    That's interesting on the 3B vs. RS2 I thought the RS2 had a larger plenum? Well anyway I'm having a 3B hogged out for my 200 20v http://www.motorgeek.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=17525

    AAN volume...

    measured at 3.05 litres...

Question is...volume or flow, or both, which is best?

Well it would be good if we could get as much detail about each of the manifolds, what they hold, flow etc.

    Eh...

No one want to know the capacity of the AAN manny?

Well stop boasting and get in the kitchen then...Sheesh! (It's the room that your food magically appears from)

Just plug up the holes in both manifolds with cellotape, fill the RS2 one with water, then carefull decant the water out of the RS2 into the ABY and measure how much water is left (if any) in your wifes measuring jug. Then get told off for playing with dirty car parts in the kitchen

Once you have cleaned up the kitchen and made the wife a cuppa, you can go back to stripping eBay of any useful Audi parts

    Cheers n tears (of frustration)

    This is old new, http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15343

I don't trust them flow figures as it's not done in a real world enviroment, plus flow is not everything, a high velocity is need to make torque.

That is between a 3B and RS2. He makes no mention of the ABY. I always assumed that the ABY and RS2 were the same internally, anyone care to comment?

Here is Pisobiker confirming that the RS2 IM has a capacity of 4.2 liters (incl. runners).

The 3B IM has a volume of 3.3 liters.

I think you can still reach high HP numbers with a RS2 or 3B IM (good for at least 516 WHP), but it's just the unbalanced flow over the 5 cylinders that I would like to prevent.
What I mean with this is that actually each cylinder has got to be tuned with a different AFR, while now you tune the whole engine on average AFR over the 5 cylinders, meaning some cylinders run a little richer or leaner. I guess you will get most performance an a equally flowed IM.

Does that mean you have an RS2 IM that you might not fit as it is no better than the 3B one? Wanna swap it for a VDO boost gauge? :mischeif:

..as on a Superflow bench with 28 inches. All within 4% max/min, within 1.1% of average or so, this is untouched right off the CNC. Just for reference 8) I'm getting a 3B flowed right now for comparison 8)

Javad confirms that the RS2 IM has about 1 liter more volume.
However the flowbench numbers show me I will never put a RS2 IM on my car!
