Turbo to MAF hose, odd finding ?

Finally replaced this with a samco one. Inside was a loose metal ring about the diameter of the hose, loose in the bend near the turbo intake
My guess is that it was a brace against hose collapse that had become dislodged however I have never read heard of it mentioned before. ?OEM

I think the oem ones are reinforced with metal, also been a few people who've inserted various sizes or rings inside them to help their strength and durability

Chucked it out. It was not a screen clip ring. It was a distorted hoop of metal with circular not flat cross section.

Rs2 , so the maf has plastic x-section rather than a metal grid and clip....

They are in the standard pipes to stop them collapsing

In my pipe I only have one which is more of an oval shape and fits into the pipe. It normally drops out of place if you do a leak test and pressurise the inlet hose too though
