I will be using mine with VEMS. Just got it started today. Need to get the laptop on it to check everthing. WBO2 is installed so can check Fuelling as well.
Just need to get the exhaust on it and check fuel pressure.
Not sure if the Apexi AVCR monitors 5 cylinder engines which might play with the RPM signal.
Happy days

Wideband O2 is a nice touch, should mean that you can pretty much do whatever you wnat withing the spec of the injectors and fuel pressure WOT feedback is nice when it works but callibration can drift so be careful.

Thats what the throttle pedal is for... boost regulation!
I cannot think of one scenario where I want full boost at half throttle... If I need full boost, I just find the carpet with my right foot.
The only useful advantage of aftermarket systems like this is that, in the right hands, they are often the only method for folk to alter engine/boost behaviour as the Motronic system requires specialist knowledge that you can't find in the aftermarket channels.
O.K let me rephrase 0.4 bar of boost at part throttle annoys me!
I'm going to succumb to my boost controller or installing a 0.9 wastegate spring which will keep me happy even though it reduces the ECU control of reducing boost in fault conditions
winding some gain out will stop full boost at part throttle.
ive done a few AVC-rs before on subarus'. they are pretty good but a tad on the large side to fit to an audi dash. self leaern works ok. not as good as say a blitz or HKS though.
they control boost well. i use a turbosmart eboost 2 now as its a 60mm guauge and fits in my perrin gauge pod great.
personally i would never go back to the crappy motronic contol.
dont you loose the safe mode if the N75 is disconnected? Are the newer electronic boost contollers capable to detect something that the motronic would and reduce boost in order not to cause serious damage to the engine?
Would the electronic boost controller connect eg.to the knock control where it would detect knock and reduce advance and thereafter drop into safe mode before a meltdown?...and of course other stuff that motronic detects to drop into safe mode etc.
As far as i know, only aftermarket ECU's can do that with a fair amount of programming and knock detection as well as other factors that would enable the ECU to protect the engine on fault detections
how many have fully working knock sensors? tested?
how many have evidence that these systems save engines?
how many feel its nice to feel safe?
i have never seens such system work properly. i have seen them fail where bad knock sensors have grenaded engines through allowing excess timing to be added
personally i wouldn't bet my engine on the reliability of the motronic system 12+ years after it hit the road.
whe we detect knock do we have the time to reduce boost and timing, check it again and readjust as necessary. i think not.
Advantages are alter boost when running. low and high boost settings accurate boost peak. lower boost in gears.
Just need to plumb it in and see what happens.
Usually seen them on Evos and Subarus with 4 cylinders
Just wondering if it works with 5 cylinders. Anyone know?
