Following on from This thread about my Nothelle spec turbo (sorry Eric, wasn't able to get any useful info off mine!) it turns out it was my head gasket that had given up - and by the slightest amounts aswell! It had a tiny little groove in it, around 7mm long just behind the 5th (rear) cylinder, which probably explains why water wasn't shooting up out of the spark plug holes at first - that only happened after 2 weeks of use!
Anyway, after a long arduous ordeal removing all the bits from the engine bay - what a nightmare it is to work under there, there's just no room for anything and everything needs to be moved to get something else out - the head was sent off for skimming, where it had the valves altered and re-set inc. new seals all round aswell - but the head-gasket set was the biggest shock! It turned out costing around £200 for the gasket set which seemed scandelous to me, the fella who did it (good friend of my Dad's) said he could have gotten a much cheaper set but they aren't great quality and the ones put on are a German make (the name escapes me now!). So it's back together now, and it seems to be running fine, no oil or water usage as of yet *touch wood* and it feels powerful again which is nice.
