Forge valves work well but need to be regularly cleaned & serviced.
The springs lose their tension over time but uprated springs are readily available
Why use recirculating valves any way?, they just dump hot air back into the inlet...
Even though the valves that vent to atmosphere sound chavvy they work better!!

Because atmosphere DV's dont work with air metered engines. Unless you move the MAF to the pressure side

Running the Forges in reverse works better, because the surface area is smaller. In addition, running it in the traditional orientation, air pressure will try to push the piston sideways, causing it to leak.
I'm currently running the Forge 007 reversed in my 1.8Bar RS2. Green spring with shims. Got a kit with stiffer springs, so I will generate some power graphs with green vs. blue spring and see if spoolup is improved. Doubt it, since running the valve in reverse makes it hold pressure so much better.

Spring power combined with the pressure coming from the small hose holds the valve shut. Since one now has more boost on top of the piston compared to the pressure applied at one of the larger holes on the DV.

When changing gear, vacuum is applied on the small hose which now means that instead og spring force + boost pressure you now have spring force and vacuum pulling. Now the boost pressure can open the piston and dump the air.

However when testing I also found that reversing the 006 gave a better and more airtight solution. However do not reverse a Bailey DV30, couse that dont work reversed, this fooked my RS2 turbo

Keenly spotted Jonas - there is no mention or pics on the motorgeek page that the guy hooked up the control line during tests... That would be the only way to do it properly. I suspect his results aren't realistic cos of that.

Any improvement felt on the road is due to boost pressure holding the valve shut, as opposed to springs or boost assisted diaphragms holding it closes.

It actually might be worth trying on the stock valve, but I've never bothered to experiment with it.

The vacuum port on top of the DV is responsible for opening the valve when the throttle is closed (vacuum in Intake manifold) as well as holding the valve closed under boost. The DV will work without the spring. However, there is always a pressure differential from the area right after the turbo to the intake manifold. In addition, there is a time delay from the turbo to the intake. The spring keeps the valve shut while the turbo builds enough pressure in the manifold so that the vacuum/boost line can do its job. A weak spring combined with a turbo that builds pressure fast means boost leak under boost buildup.
