Main Bearing Shell Difference ADU / Diesel

This is one for parts daddy or anybody in the know

What is the difference between these crankshaft bearings?

    034 198 491 C - RS2

    034 198 491 D - Listed for Diesel AAT / AET from 2004 ( 034 198 491 A was dropped )

As I have a diesel block should I buy the Diesel bearing or the RS2?

I've got a set of RS2 hardened mains from 034 and a set of Glyco RS2 bearings from a local supplier and they are both the same, packaging, part numbers the lot. The only difference is the price, 034 are £120 and the Glyco ones are £85. I've had the crank assembled in the block once to check the clearances and they were fine. Not sure about the difference between RS2 and Tdi ones but the RS2 ones do fit the AAT block.
See here, they list the same bearing for all the 5 cyl engines now:-

Just make sure if you do get Glyco's you get the ones with the separate thrust ( i.e. standard ) bearing as the integral ones are no good I was told.

Thanks for the info on Glyco bearings, Mark H has thread on it, and I remember DJones having issues with the intergrated ones

            .

Put a picture up of the oil hole and bearing in the block...then we can tell if the holes are in diff. positions.

Found out myself, the A revision which was dropped for the D revision is not hardened and fitted to the 7A and Diesel blocks ( which I find bizarre, why didn't they get the RS2 hardened ones? )

Andy mate, which part number did you order from Glyco and from what website so I can't f*ck up my order

              Cheers
