I am at the stage of fitting the intercooler and would like to know where other people with a series 2 20Vt conversion have mounted there intercooler. Struggling to find room for it at present as trying to keep the car looking standard from the outside.

What sort of power you hoping for Dave? Stock UR location is good....
Problem with a type85 is that the front panel is too restrictive for a FMIC.... I have considered measuring and cuting bits out to fit one but seems alot of effort.

Keeping standard apart from a re-chip. Even fitting the standard small cooler seems an issue and looks like I will have to cut into the wing hidden behind the front bumper to fit in Ur location. Not ideal but as stated there is not a lot of room!
Anyone have a pic of the Ur cooler in position.

It can a nightmare and depends how far you are prepared to go.
If you are not upping power,
You could fit an IC behind the front grill. I used this area for my main radiator as I went for inverted AAN IM to help with the lag. Not sure if a standard one would go in there, but custom one could be the way to go. I'm sure others on here have fitted keeping standard look, but look also on motorgeeks.com as many a 4000 conversion has been written up there. HTH

The problem is the CQ's wing shape behind the bumper compared to a Ur, even the front bumper of a Ur won't fit a CQ without cutting into the wings... Somewhat draconian this, but, I think I'd be tempted to cut the front wing and front plate behind the front bumper sufficiently to accommodate the ur (or slightly larger) intercooler and plumbing. It will be severe, but out of sight behind the standard CQ bumpers and will put the intercooler in it's optimum position...
Just get the 'hacksaw' work sealed properly to prevent corrosion...

Thanks for all the advice. I have taken the plung and cut the wing and part of the front valance and fitted the cooler in and treated the metal, painted and waxoyled it. I am using a slightly larger cooler from an S6 which doesn't help, but it is now fitted...just. Not vertical but at 45 degrees but as I have a stainless undertray on mine I will cut some fins into it to divert the air up into it. Have also fitted a bike rad fan on it to keep air flowing over it at low speed. Hope it all works.
Where is the best place to get the pressure hose from to connect to turbo etc?

Thanks, A 50 to 60mm reducer is what I need now as the turbo outlet is 50mm, the inlet to the cooler is 60mm, Doh! And there is not a lot of distance between the two either.
