    Cam belt tensioner...

Got my 7A block fully stripped and ready for the machining ops...first is the fitting of the ABY belt tensioner.

No problem with sorting the position for the holes, just concerned i dont drill too far and go into the water jacket!

Anyone done this before? I know the ABY holes are 15mm deep but the 7A block doesn't look like it has as much metal in those places?

    Cheers.
    Carlos.

I think you need to add metal to those points (by welding) - not 100% sure though - someone must have a BTDT.

Not sure what welding you mean?

I'll try and get some piccies up.

No need for that surely - just get an ABY one... Dahlback have some exotic fat ones - big wallet required for supersize sprockets unt belt.

Never seen the need for large belt myself with so many of the power boys running stock equipment.

Even Javad is running stock at crazy BHP.

But I know theres a feeling the stock belt isn't up to the job for some reason.

Anyway heard the same rumour about the Golf wheel but never investigated as have an ABY/
