I've had 150 showing on my s2 with 144mph on the satnav and that was running 235/35/19 which i don't think was too bad.

Or did I dream reading that somewhere?
@ Jas11n: you were'nt dreaming! i have the wireing diagram for the tow bar and it says that it fools the ecu in to thinking its at high altitude. iirc it drops the power down to 230bhp

    cheers adam

Is the GPS more accurate than the speedo?

what is it by the way, is it the speed indicated on the trip computer average speed display with the reset button held in?

Not sure if its the same on RS2 but on my e39 M5 top speed was restricted to 250KPH/155 mph BUT that was only in 6th gear, you could nudge past 155mph in 5th, change into 6th and that would take you waaaay past that, to an indicated 187mph and that was before i had it mapped. A very fast car..

If RS2 IS restricted it may only be applicable if that speed hit in 6th gear

Defo limited to 163mph. Mihnea informed me he removed the limit when re mapping. Never did test what it did & I am back with the OEM maps at the moment.

i can see this turning into a piss -ing competition....again!

My 3b and ABY coupes both did 170mph (on the clock so not accurate).
I did 160 on the 3b when unchipped.
Havent had a go in the avant yet but easily got 160 a while back, still pulling.

all on a private test track:mischeif:

My RS2 said in the Licence papers 262 (in Germany they right in the speed the factory gives them). Also in the manual said that the Limiter can be removed by cutting the pin as mentioned above. It can also been programmed to have no speed limiter with a chip.

You do know that spilling your beer in the S2 is a criminal offence

Um my local tesco's banned me from donutting my coupe quattro in the car park when I lived in herts so I can't try that

Even so, you must have nerves of steel to take the S2 to that sort of speed in between all the shoppers and trollies
