Yes, the pipe goes all the way through the cam cover not into and then out of. If you see what I mean, you need to look at the diagrams on S2 Central.

Now, would I say it did if it didn't?

Its in the PCV system, there's a pipe that goes from there round the cam cover ( or through the cam cover on the ABY) and connects to the MAF hose, this is where the vacuum comes from when the car is on boost.

well how is that valve related to the MAF hose???
isnt it a little too far away from the maf?

Have a look on S2 central, theres a couple of diagrams of the PCV system one for the 3B and one for the ABY I think, the AAN "should" be the same as the ABY.

When this valve sticks open you can get boost going into the PCV system and the cap will leak and the cam cover gasket can blow out. (well I was running 2 Bar..) Its only supposed to open when you lift off so the vacuum can scavenge the crankcase fumes.

Remove the ISV to get to it, remove the valve and try blowing through it in both directions, it should only flow one way, sometimes it just sticks and you can clean it with WD40 and it works again, sometimes it breaks completely. Make sure the tube that goes from the big side of the valve round to the MAF hose is not blocked (or holed..).

    Does the AAN have this?

If so, do you have a picture of it or where it is located as I have 2 pipes coming out of the back of the AAN head.

    Papvas, post above edited,

I dont have the part number, its pretty easy to change once you've removed the ISV.

i sort of cleaned my PCV a little bit and what i also did was replace the flame deflector. My mechanic suggested to take the deflector out completelly (i think the car was like that all this time) as it produces more pressure to the fumes in general,so it helps to just have it removed completelly

I have got this problem, after my rebuild, brand new engine cap. I think it is a problem with my PCV system and when it boosts its being pressurised too much. I think, so going through my PCV to look for leaks and going to renew the valves in th system, see if this helps.
My turbo is on its was out as well so i dont know if it could be pressure going through the seals here into the oil system again giving too much pressure in the sump and blowing too much oil residue though the pcv system.
Will let you know how i get on.

started a topic oil loss from cap

    oil loss from cap

has anyone ever had this problem before?
It seems that the oil cap although new,it sweats in oil and now after my long trip it had sweated the surrounding area from that side of the cyl head.
Oil level did seem to have gotten a little low,but to tell you the truth im not sure that it was up to the full when i started my journey.
Working...
