The exhaust was drilled and the inox tube above was inserted and welded so as the open side of the tube is "looking towards" the the flow of the gases i.e. looks towars the boot.

nice work, but does it take out a lot of the original tubes and stuff which you now don`t need anymore?
I mean are there less tubes when a catchtank is fitted ?

          Cheers Cees

Never mind the catch tank... gotta love that inlet manifold

I would like to know the vacuum generated by the exhaust trick - have you a T-point where you can attach a guage to see this in action ?

I'm not so keen on the pipework from the air filter though. I'd have put an inlet scoop on the bonnet or right wing, then some vents to banish hot air above the exhaust. Easy for me to say - but I ain't got the money to play this game so I'll shut up now

Cees - you get rid of the 2 metal pipes and get rid of the intake through the cam cover.

Nick - that looks good. Can you tell me what diameter of metal pipe you used? And, like Paul says, it would be interesting to see what sort of vacuum you are getting throughout the rev range.

I would also like to know how hot that metal pipe gets at the point where you are mounting the hose? How far away from the dowpipe connection do you have the rubber h

I seem to remember Bigtoe saying that he pulled 20 inches of water/vacuum with his, in the original thread.

Doug i used a 8mm (inside diameter) inox pipe, then i used oxygen welding to heat it up and twist it (hope you make sense of what i am writing because i don,t know the terminology around this stuff very well). The pipe is long enough so with the right angle you can connect the rubber hose 8cmm to 10cm away from the dowpipe. I used a special hose capable of 220 celcious and 45 bar, of cource you dont care about the bar specification, although it makes sense in the way that it is hard enough not to twist in high temp.Hope this helps.
Will do a test to see how much vaccum it generates, but after i solve the problem i have, which by the way was not from the MAP, which i replaced today. Cheers Nick

'INOX' is 'Stainless Steel' in a few European languages.

                            Nick,

great work you are doing there, and fast like Timucin says , what was the problem if it was not the MAP?

                            Mark.

Mark today i was so happy when the MAP arrived with UPS... I had the car washed had my CD' ready and i went to have the MAP fitted and then to ...you know the feeling OVERBOOST...
But the MAP was replaced but the problem was still there. You can imagine how dissapointed i got!! Then tryed many stuff but none solved the problem. Then when i fitted a new stiffer spring i managed to get a bit more boost but with the same problem. Also the boost according to rpm does not make sense, i mean, i have 0.7 at 4krpm and it goes past the 1.3 at 5krpm if the problem does not occur before 5 krpm!
Note that i have a new N75 valve fitted, a new wastegate diaphragm, new blowoff valve, new exhaust manifold etc.
