S6 auto chip

ive been away for a while having owned other makes of cars but just have to get another Audi
im looking at a 1997 S6 estate auto at the weekend but want to make it AT LEAST as fast as my old manual URS4.(280ish)
can the slush box put up with 280ish bhp?
is it possible to run a switch for high and low boost as i will be fitting LPG to the car?
makes sense to run low boost for 800mile round trips to car shows etc anyway.
can a chip be made to allow for auto or do i just put a manual one in?
what is the next stage £&bhp?, ive forgotton as its been a while
and anybody know of a nice CHEAP S4/6 (id like an estate if possible, S2 is too small i have 3 growing kids) for sale around £3000 incase this one falls through?

mate has an S4 auto and wants it chipped but im pretty sure the auto box would implode in a short space of time with a chip from a manual,was speaking to paul(s2central) and he was saying the ecu for the auto box has to be adjusted as well.Pretty sure i have seen chips for sale on ebay.de,possibly by mtm quoted as being approx 260bhp,probably in an attempt to save the box.

coming back had to be done them bloody Audi's are so much better than anything else ive had,id buy my 235k miler back today i miss it so much.
ive had fun cars though dont get me wrong and they have been fun not like the 4x4 but proper steer from the rear.
but ive got an M3 now for a track day car (v tatty one im not rich!) and a 300bhp zafira gsi but the tax is £415 next year, mpg is at best 22 and on a run 28@60mph.
but its front wheel drive yea its fast in a straight line for a big 'o' bus runs 14.03 1/4 but handles like a block of flats!!
im going to get the auto if its nice and leave it alone if the box wont handle the power, if its real REAL nice ill blow the auto up and convert to 6speed and then take it to rs spec@350ish bhp
should have done that to my old s4, if i had of done i reckon id still have it now oh and thanks for the welcome back

My old UrS4 Auto had a Nothelle chip that was fitted when the car was virtually new by Scotts of Sloane Square.
Over 200,000 miles later and it still drove and worked really sweetly (until recently that is )

I emailed Nothelle a while back for more info on the chip. They told me the basic spec was:
265 PS / 5.800 U/min
380 Nm / 2.800 U/min

Slightly less than a manual version, as you say, probably due to the auto gearbox.

I think Paul can still Homefry one though, he would probably need all the info/codes from the ecu first to confirm.

Have an s6 avant may sell it at some point depending on circumstances this is due to wanting to complete rs2 conversion on my ur quattro. The s6 has a seven seat conversion runs very well have considered lpg -ing it but is very good on a run gearbox was rebuilt at a cost of £3000 by previous owner only done 106000 so should have a lot of life in it Will possibly test a 300 bhp chip with the gearbox ecu chip for faster gear changes.

Is an auto a preferance or major requirement? (not sure if its something you'd like or definately need) if that you don't mind a manual you asked spink about his noggy s6?
