Tracking and larger turbos

I would be interested to hear the track experience of those who have upgraded to larger turbos.

I still run a K24. I am looking at bigger turbo's but I want to know what it will get me. Since I mostly drive tight, technical tracks I am most often seeing situations where I need a lot of grunt in 2nd, 3rd and ocassionally 4th. Even on the autobahn, I really can't say the car has been out of breath. I don't do quarter miles.

In terms of getting around the track, how do you like the larger turbos?How do you like the way they drive? How have you had to change your driving to use the bigger turbos? Are your lap times lower with the bigger turbo's?

I cant really say yet as I havent tracked mine yet with the new turbo, something I hope to put right later this year when the new engine is run in. I can tell you though that I dont find lag a problem when driving fast, particularly when driving fast along the twistys, when coming out of corners and bends. One thing I can definately say for sure is that it hasnt slowed me down when I nail it :mischeif:

I have only tracked my car with an RS2 turbo on it - and it was on a tight(ish), techinical circuit at Knockhill in Fife in Scotland. Here is a track map although this does not show how much height changes are on the track - Duffus Dip is an amazing corner - and Glenvarigill corner is a blind crested chicane.

Anyway - on track lag is not an issue as you are using high rpms all the time.

I am desperate to get the car back on the road and will take it upto this track again - they do track evenings for cars worth over £10k on the first tuesday of every month - I will report back what a k26/27/29 is like on it as soon as I can.
