Yeah, it looks crap, but it works! (Suggestions on a better looking alternative greatly received!)
Back in the saddle again...?

Looks very similar to my heatwrap effort.
Certainly keeps the pipe a lot cooler. I found on mine though that on a longer drive it still gets red hot underneath.

Wing paint - That's a trick o the light. The car looks ok when it's raining - you can't notice all the peeling lacquer then! Actually using foil tape and tin foil on the inlet pipe, and SFS heat hosing to shroud the intercooler to inlet pipe. Gonna see if I can get some stainless pipes from inlet - intercooler and turbo to intercooler.
Tom you're a cheeky ****, being a founder member of Team bodge n all, n saying that about my extreme mods! Should be good for 50hp I reckon. At each wheel. Nearest I'll get to a magazine feature is 'Shed and wrekcers' monthly, with a feature on how to get a trick 'snowfall' effect when you turn the heater blower on in the car and loads of lacquer blows out the vents and round your ears. Tis most unnerving...
With regards to mods, here's one of the photos from todays 'Donnie custom car show.' A prime example, I think it won 'worst in show' and 'car most likely to be unable to complete 1/4 mile'
. The term 'custom car' now sadly means 'putting as much plastic crap on your 1.2 corsa and it's flip paint job as possible, and hoping that a k&N induction kit will free up enough hp to keep up with standard unmodified 1.2 corsas'. Weren't many yank cars there aither. All in all, quite crap
The yank stuff was most interesting, with a nice 6.7 camaro @470bhp, and a a 'vette stingray @650-700bhp and 4mpg. There were also some interesting alloys at £15k for 4 wheels.... (apparently - one of my friends asked - I wouldn't want to be associated with them...)

15k for 4 of these? (yeah, they were 23 or 24", and the dangerous looking spinny thing ... ummm... spun... but errr... 15k?)Attached Files'The Bacofoil Express'...

And a 470bhp Camaro. A mate I went with considered buying the car off the guy - offered him £30k or his Lotus plus cash, and the owner wanted to keep the car... shows you can love something TOO much... But damn, it was nice...Attached Files'The Bacofoil Express'...
