Oil???

Hi,
Can anybody recomend a good engine oil for the Rs2?
I was going to try Magnatex......Any good?????

Silkolene Pro S 10w 50. is what opie recommends,

Best oil I've used with my avant was Redline Racing 15-50 or Motul 300v 15-50, the lifters tapped when hot / revved hard when I use Castrol magnatec or Edge 10-40 or 10-60 oil. Even with new lifters , never had an issue with Redline or Motul oil though.

I'm with Prosty here, Motul makes fantastic esther based oils.
Big plus on the candy smell that it has

Quantum Synta silver 10W 40 in both the RS2d S2 and RS2 works for me

mobil 1 0w-40 i had noisy tappets every time i started and high oil temp on the motorway, after this i've never had a peep from the tappets and nice cool temps.

Can second the mobil 1 but thats on a 7A.

This is a subject that has been covered quite extensively and will probably result in a million different comments.

Check the posts by Oilman there are 3 types of oils to consider 5w40 10w40 & 10w50

It all depends on your car use, 10w50 if you track and thrash. use the 5w40 for short journey runs or average day to day use.

Silkolene Pro S 10w 50 is probably the best choice of oil you could use.
