Pic 1 of 2 - a temporary fit... The heatshield picks up existing holes on body for mounting. I didn't alter the factory airbox ducting so its a lil tight at the front.

Pic 2 of 2 - just the cone, pipe and shield lying on the floor. Looks rather small in this photo - no reference point but that blue Silicone hose is 80mm diameter.

i tried this back in 2004 with my K&N using some alu sheeting. When we dyno'd a homefry in Luton/Milton Keynes it was so hot you could have cooked an egg on it

Not sure if the S2 under bonnet layout is the same but i put my cone filter down near the oilcooler/behind bumper. This made it louder (induction noise) and it made a difference slightly. I then removed the undertray which made the biggest difference on my car. I now have a different setup with the GT30R on it with No MAF and 4" pipe work to the turbo inlet. Filter is now where the oil cooler was and bumper opened up.

In past car i have had problems with engines stalling with a MAF (Similar to S2) with a cone filter. Engine temp hot air getting sucked in. I just moved the filter away as far as i could from engine bay. And down behind the bumper.

            just my findings

You might have put a cleaner air filter on it . I've plenty pics of the dahllback setup & quikshift filter I ran for a few years if anybody wants them

Some rolling roads have crap fans as well. The best i have came across are Dastek fans. This will also make a difference.

PTS, thats the place back in 2003.... As you can see from the figs, ambient temperature was a bit on the high side which affected the IAT and power but torque was respectable for a homefry.

True about the Dastek fans...the RR at Combe they were trying to rip the striplight off the ceiling Here are my figs from the RR at ADI last October after i got the car back on the road again post rebuild and with an ABY airbox in place too...

Yeah i've used the RR at pts before which was not too bad and the car made the power it was supposed to. This was just over a year ago so the fans had been upgraded slightly. Don't think they are there now.

The castle combe one's was quite good that ceiling light did worry me a bit tho

What were the AFRs like? Looks like boost leak time to me, same as my 273 run on teh MRC map.
