    Blue smoke on gearchange

I thought I noticed a puff of blue smoke the other day when hitting the throttle immediately after a gear change.. and today I've confirmed it. Short puff of smoke when going from 4th to 5th at speed. Can't really replicate it but it usually happens if I've powered all the way through 4th; if I change to 4th and go to WOT for a short time and then change, it doesn't do it.

    Diagnosis please chaps?

Smoke on gear changes usually points to worn turbo seals.

Ah ha, found the same thing elsewhere:

Blue smoke usually indicates the turbo seal is damaged on the turbine side and oil is leaking from the turbo into the exhaust system.

Is it a major problem or something I can live with for a while? Good excuse to change the turbo? Sounds like it's not particularly easy to fix!

worn out valve stem seals could be the cause Also have a check out the PCV breather system.
