    Closed loop setup

I've always been interested in the closed loop setup that the ford boys get offered for there cossie's to help with fuelling and economy, has anyone ever had anything like this fitted to an s2 or similar?

    MSD Closed Loop perfect!

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Installed the closed loop conversion from MSD and look at this CO readings!! With the old chip and greens it was set at 3.5% to let it pass the MOT. But only at a higher CO value it would run ok.

Now with this new chip and closed loop it runs like a dream all through the revs, very low CO at idle and a great fuel consumption!

Thanks a lot you guys from MSD!!

Thats the website for them, its quite an interesting idea and if it helps with economy then its a bonus.

The S2 is closed loop at part throttle and adjusts the mixture based on the lambda signal, hence why you have a lambda. It does not do this on WOT though as you need a wideband lambda to do this.

Well, VEMS can do closed loop all around, and is "plug-and-play" for 5 cyl audi engine. Most aftermarket ECUs need altered triggering, and even then 5 cyl engine might prove impossible to tune on them.

It's all in "lambda-table" to get better fuel economy, 20vt audi engine can be run quite lean on cruise.

How lean is quite lean? i'd be tempted just would not want it to go too far that if I have a problem the safety margin drops quite badly?

I have been thinking about the plug and play vem's its just finding someone close to me who i'd trust to set up the end product.
