Any sugestions?

As some of you may know,i recently purchased my first s2 and has been going great-but there is one annoying problem-i start the car on a morning and it starts fine,i drive to work in it,work all day and when i come to start her again to drive home it just stalls and dies-it takes a couple of attempts to get her chugging with my foot on the gas and i have to keep the gas on for a minuite or so to get her running-yes, that is strange!

what could it be?i thought perhaps the ignition is to blame,she does not run as smooth as she should on tickover-which leads me to believe it might be the timing is off-any way i'm blagged stupid so your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah get that checked, could also be a faulty MAF, MFTS or Lambda

could you have an air bleed into the fuel lines?
Causing them to empty during the day???

funny you should say that as my bro said same also,when it does this again i'm gonna unplug airflow meter first and see if it starts-if it does,it's that to blame,if that dont work i'll have to check fuel pressure-see if air is getting in-we'll see....

oh christ. time for me to feel awful. I didn't have this problem mate but when I completed the build it was playing silly ******s like that every time i started it because one of the wires on the sensor on top of the Inlet Manifold had snapped. Try that first in case my soldering skills are crap. It did get a replacement dizzy as well but it was driving well so I don't think it could be that. could it be related to the coolant temp sender throwing up an error? Wasn't causing any problems before i drove down and definitely not at the extreme speeds on the motorways there.
balls, i'm really feeling bad about this.

don't feel bad mate-don't think it's much-it's only on start up, we've narrowed it down somewhat so should be sorted tomorrow-to be expected with a 17 year old car-on the plus side i just treated her to a K&N panel filter,i was quite shocked that what should be a really easy job was a rite sod to do!fun and games tho

Yeah well I'm just doing the Sound Dub for Ep8 at the moment, shall we say its been an emotional journey. Mervin does make me laugh, Simon Greenall who does his voice is a v funny guy. Look out greenall sentencing Mervin to many life sentences in the last ep.

For Ep7 that went out on Sunday I did 9am to 5am the following day. Painful.

If it makes you laugh then its worth it.

aye I suppose at that age you do expexct the odd bit of senility. and at the filter changing. How could something so routine possibly be as **** clenchingly frustrating? Only air box i've seen that loonks ok is on the V6 cos it might as well be on top of the bonnet. a joy to change the filter on that. oh yes indeedy.
