They are different throttle bodys, you might have the later one fitted as i can see the two screw holes on top for the bracket. Somebody may have bodged it to make it fit?
It should close the switch when the throttle butterfly is less than 3 degrees open, try shorting the two wires together and see if it idles ok.

good stuff Jay, thanks! I might need to call on your stockpile if the TB i've got won't help
Mark - Thanks i'd not looked at that section on 20v.org
weird thing is the idle is almost perfect. Its just taking ages to return to 850rpm if i rev it or dip the clutch coming up to a junction etc

ok - from www.20v.org I've got the early TB, supposedly with the separate pot and idle switch.
BUT my throttle pot and loom have the early 4 pin connectors - the pot itself has 4 pins, my throttle pot loom connector only has 3, with one spare!!!
I'm missing pin 4 from the loom, which is 5v supply from the ECU apparently
The throttle pot itself is definately the early one, as there is no wire coming off it for the idle switch
This is all getting weird now! So.... i'm going to try shorting the two redundant wires for the idle switch and see what happens to the idle.
Jay - do you have an early type idle switch and mounting screws i might perloin from you pretty please?!
