ok then GTI international for me has alway been a laugh for me and my mate to which for the past 4 odd years i have beat him by quite a bit yep all praise the s2 but this year he beat me in a 2 wd golf ok so he has a lsd an a 1.8t in it no seats and thats about it but come on its still 2wd any way here is the thing i was quicker 0-60 although he had the fastest 0-60 for 2wd golfs and mine wasnt ace but it was as i hit third gear it would only boost up to .5 bar why would this be 1st gear and second up to 1.0 ish and third nothing why would my car do this anyone got any ideas and no this isnt my david coultard book of excuses then on the return trip from drag not turning the engine of in 3rd it would once again boost up to 1.4 so what the **** would cause this has anyone had this problem before i would like to find out why as i would have beat him if this never happened so im annoyed a wee bit. so send in your ideas... please

ive had this,and an intermittent problem tends to lead to boostleakes,wgfv or in my opinion nock sensors

Yeah would say you need to be hunting down a boost leak...

Had this to, it was a bad fuel pump, when I changed it the problem was fixed, and no more limp mode.

I think the bad fuel pump make the engine run lean, and the car goes in limp mode.

see id might go with the running lean but wouldnt it stay in limp mode because thats what i dont get that it would boost after ( leaving engine running) in third no problem only after killing it of the line would it not boost in third.?

ok then went to BVF the other day and i left my car on the drive running while i ran in to get my road tax ( which i had forgot to put in the window)
went back outside and it had stalled.
and guess what four years no breakdowns and i was already late
So i then thought what else could it be turns over ok disconect ecu leave for a moment and it would atempt a bit more to start but still nothing ..
then i thought fuel maybe and guess what my fuel pump had died on its butt. so this i think was my problem ...

So thanks again Mister Sal you saved my butt again... fitted it back in and i was able to of to bvf
