Hi Guys....Think I have found the problem
Just swapped BOTH connectors on the POS round and using the link provided think I have found the problem....
The misfire changes from Cyl 2 to Cyl 5 when swapped, so going by the link I am assuming that the right hand POS is faulty.
Really pleased that it is nothing more serious - Andyg plym is sending me a couple, so I can swap them (Thanks Andy ) Hopefullt this will cure my problem.
Thanks for all your help.....what an awesome forum!
    James

      Good stuff James.
If you want to save money...
If you make sure the broken POS is the one that supplies only 2 cylinders, you can change the wiring of the connectors so that the broken channel becomes the unused one, and the other 2 are used. (assuming that the current unused channel is not broken)

It's a bit of a pest changing the terminals on the connectors, but it saves the cost of a POS.

Thought about that, but got a good deal from Andy so will probs change the whole thing.
Read on here somewhere that they can be a pain to re wire, and given that my electrical skills are non existant I think I will leave it this time....
The POS has to be the problem doesnt it?

If when you've changed the POSs round, the missfiring cylinder moved, then yes it's the POS.

If you are going to swap another set in, then don't forget to get some heatsink paste from somewhere like Maplins. Coat the rear of the POS where it meets it's mounting bracket to stop it potentially overheating in the future.

            Thanks Jas11n.....

Will do.....pleased that the POS HAS to be the problem....will be nice to have it running properly again...Had loads of little niggly problems since I have bought the car a few months ago and as you all probably know, it just plays on your mind if it isnt perfect.
Will fit the new POS tommorrow if it arrives and let you all know the verdict.

            Thanks once again guys

Yep, it's a pest getting the terminals out of the connector.
Like Jase said, be sure to put on thermal paste. If you don't have a maplin nearby, a computer shop should stock some.

                      Hi Andy,
Have just swapped the one and it is cured! Thank you for sending them up so quickly, I still have the other one in case the problem occurs again.

                      Cheers,
                      James.
