    Boost leak but not ?

I have the dreaded whistle coming from under the bonnet whenever I start to accelerate, but I can put my foot to the floor and accelerate reasonably well and don't get any black smoke or nasty cut out that you would normally get with a boost leak any clues ??, not the MAF as that is only about 18 months old.

Have to admit beginning to wonder about the economics of the car I was hoping for a cheap year but so far I have had to do the clutch cylinder, alternator. I also need to do the ISV, receiver/drier and another pipe on the aircon, and every time it goes into the garage I get grief from the wife about the car being old and I should sell it

Maybe I should persuade her to sell her 26yr old Porsche that she never drives any more.

I to have this whistling sound and cannot find the cause. boost reads a little low but it could just be the age 190000mls.

Could be the turbo? Mine whistles a bit more than it used to but that could be the airbox mod.

finally found the answer to this one, the seals on my forge DV had perished and were hence allowing air to get past them create a whistle, a lack of boost but no real sudden cut that you get with a boost leak, bizarrely though it has improved the fuel economy.
