We'll see what porting and cams can do for a 3071. Starting to assemble my engine tomorrow

What are the gestimates on porting a head? Can you buy the already complete on an exchange basis?

pkmotorsport in germany may have something ready, but basically you have to have the head of your engine done somewhere

my mechanic has said he can have the head ported and polished, but it will cost £800. Does this sound like what Ii should be paying. I'm guessing at that price the valve guides will be replaced.

i had my cyl.head only serviced(meaning valve seats, stem seals, valve them selves serviced, springs checked and/or replaced if needed, etc) for around 500euro.If i wanted a porting as well, that would be around 700-1000euros BUT with the above treatment included,so yes you should have seats and everything included IMO

thanks for your advise PapVas. I'll give the gt3076r and head porting a go. When all doneI'll providde feedback on surging -or lack of it hopefully!

Oh, have to add to list Wagner intake and exhaust manifolds, should flow quite nicely after everything

Wagner intake? I'm fitting an 034 FMIC. Do I need a modified intake manifold aswell? I was thinking of a VR6 throttle body for more flow. But after PapVas advised me that surge was caused by too much air. I was thinking of getting rid of my 034 3" cold air intake and putting the standard airbox back on.

I think you might have trouble fitting the airbox with that turbo/manifold

People have struggled with a 3071r on a rs2 manifold with rs2 airboxes, but have just managed to get them to fit, I think for that size it might be a cone/mushroom filter.

A front mounted intake will remove alot of the pipework tract from the ic to the throttle.

I'm hoping the set up will give around 500hp - thats with a .82 gt3076r with KKK hotside to fit the Wagner manifold and standard fitment 3"downpipe.
I have an upgraded 3bar MAP sensor, fuel pump and Siemens injectors. Do I need to upgrade the fuel pressure regulator and/or MAF sensor?
I was originally going for 400hp, but due to my recent change of mind for more hp I need to be aware of anymore parts that need changing. Thanks in advance for any advice you can give

Wagner intake is same as 034 HO intake, no definite need for it, as AAN intake mani could flow enough.

I just happened to buy unused for cheap, so going to fit it. Need further mods to fit to AAN, fuel rail needs to be changed, and power steering pump fixtures will need some grinding (cant use ABY/ADU bracket, as auxiliarry equipment is in a bit different positions in AAN). Also upper radiator hose might prove to need some modifications

Oh, and please don't take KKK hybrid, it's worse than bad when you look at turbine inlet... Modify DP to take T3 flanged (in fact I'm not sure it needs anything if you take 4 bolt turbine housing) turbine housing.

Get the Wagner with the T3 flange? Yeah its somewhere on S2 forum that the T3 flange flows better than the K26. As long as the back of the turbo mates straight up to my downpipe using the 4 bolt pattern then I'll be happy. You state that grinding needs to take place; ids this because of the fuel rail?

Grinding power steering pump fixtures is needed with that intake manifold, because throttle plate will be above that said pump. ABY/ADU fuel rail is bolt on to this manifold, but AAN won't fit without extensive modification.

You should have no problems with stock AAN manifold on your S6. Flow wise AAN manifold should be the best that Audi has ever placed on 5-cyl 20 valve turbo engine. It should be able to support flow with 3076.

I will keep it then. I didnt really want the extra cost of a new manifold as I've now got to fund a head port and polish. BTW, I was gonna use Siemens injectors from 034, but I've heard people use Bosch orange top injectors. Are they any better, or will the Siemens suffice. The Siemens are alot cheaper!!
