Has anyone tried this small turbo?, or these other 034 items?

http://www.034motorsport.com/product...ducts_id=13762 Small Turbo for an ABY

Just wondering has anyone tried this out this turbo on a standard ABY?

Say standard Intercooler, exhaust manifold and standard exhaust, cats still in place, standard inlet manifold and S2 air box. Standard injectors and fuel pressure regulator.

Basically, nothing changed but this turbo and what you did regarding rechipping the ECU?

I was thinking about it for my 95 ABY which just has an MTM chip as far as I know? Not sure if they changed the waste-gate spring or the diaphragm? Mine boosts well at 3k, but presumeably only does 275bhp, this turbo says it boosts at 2.4K and gives up to 350bhp.

Does this 350bhp mean 350bhp when it has a load of other items upgraded, or 350bhp when everything else is standard ABY? I know the second scenario might be naive, but have to ask the question to get the answer.

While I am it, has anyone tried out any of these on an ABY yet and if so how did you find them to install and also to use everyday?

By the way where is it possible to get good s/s ABY cat insert pipes?

Thanks in advance to all who respond with their experiences / thoughts.

David: You are standing at the very edge of a very precipitous and precarious spot we sometimes call the "slippery slope". Your "minor" turbo upgrade will end up costing you in the order of 2500 GBP by the time its all done (getting to 350 hp).

While the 034 hybrid turbo would seem to be cost effective, you also need new turbo water and oil lines (the OE ones won't work).

    In addition, you will need:

RS2 Exhaust manifold or the EVO EM from Wagner
3.0 Bar MAP (or a VMAP set to 3.0 bar)
Larger injectors to meet increased air flow/pressures of turbo
    maybe an RS2 MAF
    A complete remap
    new inlet hoses (probably Samcos)

    Nothing is cheap.

Getting from 220 hp to 275 hp via chips is THE most economical step you can take, after that the slope gets very steep and expensive.
