    KKK K24 max boost

What is the max boost for a KKK K24 turbo?
What max boost will not affect the KKK K24 turbo?
I think this info is usefull for those who want to "play" with the wastegate.
    I bought my chip from ebay.de.It`s a "Fastech Tuning" chip,for +60 hp and a +72 Nm on a 3B engine: http://www.fastech.de/deu/
That`s why i need the info,to know how much boost should i have now that i have a chip, without damaging the turbo.
Please help me,i want to buy a new spring for the wastgate. Here it is:

Need to know if it will help me.
    Thanks alot.
    Regards from Romania

Best thing to do is to get a boost gauge or hook it up to a boost measuring rolling road and then you'll have the boost profile of the chip. That wategate spring will be a bit too much as most k24 chips drop below 0.9bar boost at the red line. 1.7 bar might work though. There are different opinions on WG springs and whether they work well with chips designed for a standard spring... HTH

But i have an boost gauge.
My question was what is the max boost that the k24 can support without damaging.
      Thanks.

You'll need a compressor map for that but as a rule, MRC do a chip with 1.6 bar mid range but still only about 0.8 bar at the red line. Any more and the turbo life will be degraded. Depends if you car or not.

Of course This is why i`m asking,i don`t want to damage the turbo.I had allready damaged one,but got one as new.
Before the chip the boost was 0.8,now i`m getting a 1.3 bar boost with the car running great.I can get even 1.6 bar,but cuts off the gas. That was for the drag i was preparing, the boost is now 1 bar,i consider it enough.
Thanks for your time and patience.

No worries. The boost shouldn't be constant, it should be higher in the mid range and then lower at the red line. If you're running a 3B then the map sensor needs to be changed for more than 1 bar boost.

You need to replace the Manifold Air Pressure (MAP) sensor with one suitable for 2.5 or 3 bar and then have the ECU chips changed to suit. MRC are teh best people to speak to about this over here unless S2central.net on here is still playing with 3Bs?

I'm hitting 1.5 bar and expect no reliability issues. This gives between 320 and 330 ftlbs of torque. You don't need much more really, just more up the top end to keep the car flying to the red line

My now sold K24 ran about 10000km with 1.7bar settings, and now it's retired (still functioning) to a "only" 1.4bar duty

If you're going to go high boost then make sure you have a minimum 2.75" exhaust from the turbo backwards to get rid of all those hot gases, a bigger IC and even water injection would also be a good plan to get the most out of it, could be a real screamer when all done (for a k24 anyway)

Yep, power levels seen from the link in my sig are "quite" borderline for UrS4. Manifold air temperature was recorded 60C on torque peak and 80C on power peak
