At the weekend i had removed the following to put back on a newly rebuilt turbo:
Turbo
Throttle Body (to remove the cam cover to clean it)
ISV
Catch tank system
Boost hose from turbo
Inlet hose to turbo and MAF + filter
WGFV + piping
and thats pretty much it. put all those bits back on and the car ran great for the journey back home. Got in it this morning and the thing didnt want to idle. Went straight to 500rpm rather than high revs at first until it is warm. Was a pain to drive as it kept on wanting to cut out. Came out from work got back in and it was fine for half the journey home then it started playing up again.
the only way i can describe what its like to drive is having a constant flat spot after you have been sat in traffic for a while with a cone filter on. i.e. heat soak. have to squeeze the throttle quite alot to get it to go. Also say pulling off in 1st on a flat, get the car going so the clutch is up, then dump the clutch and the dump valve opens passing quite alot of air, even tho i havnt even got on boost, still a slight vacuum showing on the gauge.
The only thing i did while all the bits were off was clean the ISV with petrol. Not sure if i should have done this as i think its this that i have fooked somehow? and accidently caught the turbo oil drain pipe on the live side of the starter which sparked a bit, havnt checked all the fuses yet but the car was fine to drive home straight after the rebuild.
Can anyone shed any light or point me in the right direction? im preety sure ive got the WGFV connected up right as all the hoses were cut to correct length and will only fit one way.
Cheers in advance
