    Is this turbo any good

    Is this Turbo the same size as a standard RS2 turbo, and if so will it fit on my S2 manifold

    cheers

    The RS2 turbo is a special variant of the K24 with some hotside dimensions similar to a K26 #6 variety.

    This K27 turbo will have more top end 'oomf' than an RS2 item, but will also have less low end grunt and more lag simply by nature of being bigger. It can be made to work, but custom ECU programming will be required and all the right fuelling with green injectors etc.

    More importantly, I don't believe an ordinary K27 will bolt straight onto the S2 or RS2 manifold - unless it is specifically made to same bolt pattern as K26#6.

    In my opinion, the RS2 is the best compromise in low end driveability and top end power. Sure a K27 could get you over 400bhp, but whats the point if you can't just drive along on a sea of torque in 4th and higher and overtake with ease from about 2500rpm ?

    Horses for courses as always, but buyer beware on these things. Can't you trade in your K24 turbo for a reco'd RS2 item with a turbo specialist in UK somewhere ?

      Thanks for that Paul, was not sure if it was a RS2 turbo or not, I see now it aint.

      As you say I want the low end grunt so it will be the RS2 Turbo i get.

      Yeah did think of the the trade in route but it is around £700 and I am pretty skint just now.

      I am hoping to get second had 1 and running it for a good while or until it shows signs of wear then get it reconned.

      cheers

        As I am native german speaking this turbo should fit on our machines. The last picture with the samco hose and stuff is not included in the auction. It is just to show how it will work.

          Paulm;
          i know you are a bit pissed about the parts to me but here is an idea;
          i have a dealer discount from an american turbo company, i couldnt help you with rs2 turbo but if you want i can ask and try to get you a rs2-similar turbo charger - new
          euro and pound is stronger then usd , may be price would be interesting cause chargers are much cheaper in states, they ship to your adres and you do the payment to them?
          are you interested ,do you want me to ask them?
