    k24 turbo mod?

Hi, im running a stock kkk k24 turbo on my S6 but am thinking of going bigger on the comp wheel. I've decided not to use a kkk 26, but rather use a bigger comp wheel on the k24.
Would I be able to use a comp wheel similar in size to an RS2 comp wheel, and what boost could I run? Was hoping for 1.7bar boost but have no idea how much the k24 shaft can handle.
Can anyone help me out with some answers pls?

    Thanx

Speak to Turbo Dynamics or AET, they both offer hybrids with larger compressor wheels and can add a 360 degree bearing. TBH you're better just getting an RS2 turbo and running it on a chip designed for standard S2/S4 injectors, IM and EM, expect 320bhp or so once it's all fitted. K24 should be capable of over 300 with homefries and all the inlet and exhaust sorted and efficient like.

Well I've got RS2 Injectors and chip, only prob is that my RS2 Turbo is damaged and that's why I've decided to go with the k24 and bigger comp wheel.
Would the chip work with this setup?

Not really as teh turbo compressor maps are different. With that setup you'd be as well going for a GT2871 and getting th emost out of it as you'll need a remap anyway or get a refurbished RS2 unit on there. If you do go for a k24 hybrid then let us know how you get on, my guess is that an RS2 setup with k24 hybrid will be very nice if a little down on peak power.

There isnt much you can do to the k24 in the s6. From memory a slightly larger compressor wheel is about it from the bw list of upgrade options.

Will a k26 shaft fit into the center housing of a k24 turbo or are the k24 & k26 shafts different thicknesses?

It won't fit. Different thicknesses. At least audi ones.

I have some thoughts about things you are going to do. There's some VAG diesel turbo, K16/K24, which has small turbine wheel and thick shaft like K26 has. Nissan S13 people do some sort of hybrids with them. However interesting thing, audi petrol K24 hot side, is the same dimensions alloy as K26 #6, only machined differently (smaller hole for smaller wheel). If you want to do hybrid of such sort, you need to take diesel shaft (with turbine wheel), K24 petrol hot side housing, and audi k26 cold side. For the cost which exceeds proper hybrid (like T04e/K26, k27/26 or similar) you will get something, that will be capable of some bizzare boost levels and will have huge back pressure.

More wise solution is to use some bigger wheel on k24 or k26. There are 350hp capable "so called" K24's (like RS2 turbo, and other), however cold sides are far newer design than audi petrol k24's from the eighties.

In short - the only way to get something more than 300hp from stock audi petrol non rs2 k24/k26 is to use quite exotic parts which are not commonly available (read - cheap), also it may involve precision machining, balancing, etc.
