i found out doing this type of work at home takes too much time; phone rings,friends come etc..
i took the head to my friend workshop and almost finished it
will post pics tomorrow..
Timucin, the intake side CAN'T be polished, you'll be losing power and efficiency by doing so!!!! The intake side has to be rough, like 80-grit sand paper.
Only the exhaust side and the combustion chambers have to be mirror-polished.

i dont have a garage David;
i live in the city,sometimes even cant find place to park.my living room is the only place for the moment to do this stuff . Luckily i am not married yet and not planning in next 50 years..
A friend's father told him "Frank, think about getting married until you are 40, then forget all about it!"
The inlet ports need to be rough finished to cause swirl and help the fuel to be mixed well with the inlet charge I believe ( does that sound right mihnea?)
Some aircraft and racing car engines in America have their inlet/exhaust ports opened out by the use of abrasive 'mud' this is forced through and takes the rough edges off the ports. I can't remember if the St200 Mondeo had this done.
where the manifold fits onto the head (somewhere round there) water is leaking and i get anti freeze pouring down and it ends up on my oil filter (when i say its pouring i mean.. a little bit).
a mechanic who did the oil change said "bad new.. head leaking, gonna need head skimming and new gasket"... my reply was "if i fix it does that mean i will get more power?"
If you had been running with one cylinder not working - as you have - the temperature differences across the head can cause it to warp or damage the gasket.
