How much of a boost leek...?

Anybody have any idea how much of a boost leak you need to trigger the dreaded overboost protection......Would a gnats fart do it or does it need to be a full on elephant bellow...?!

    Cheers

A dodgy connection on my maf caused it to happen, let alone any leaks!

Two thirds of a small hamsters fart would normally do it......

Mmmmm....very interesting, it really doesn't need much of a leak at all then.
So even a very very very very slight hiss when pressure testing at 1 bar would trigger overboost protection...I really dont understand how the sytem works and how a slight pressure drop makes such a difference. How and where is it measured?

            Just another question.....
If I had my ecu fried by paul would the overboost protection facility be removed, bearing in mind that a system boosting at 1.4 bar would tend to find the slightest of leaks compared to a system boosting at 1 bar....? Maybe one for Mr Nugent....

            Cheers guys

Overboost protection is usually triggered when there is enough difference with measured air mass and manifold pressure. Can be either way, ie maf reporting too low numbers for seen MAP or MAP too low for seen air mass.

My car used to run against fuel-cut when I had a knackered MAF hose in my car.
All quattro products have been dermatologically tested, and are safe for daily use.

RE the homefry, all stock protection is retained, one of the best things about the upgrade IMO...
