        Nobody AFAIK!

Renault were rumoured to have developed an electro-mechanical (think solenoid) actuator, and some people even suggested that was the reason for the ultra-wide-angle V10 that they were running a few years ago, but I spoke to an ex-colleague who went there and he said it definitely didn't happen.

It wasn't just a weight problem but carrying enough energy to power the actuators was also an insurmountable issue. I don't think it went past the pipe-dream stage.

The engines are now frozen in development terms at least for a few years, and there are rules governing the minimum weight and the C-of-G position too.
