Poor Earth with 034 intake spacer ?

I have some minor starting problems, have read that ground (earth) problems can be one thing.

I have an intake spacer from 034 motorsport mounted could this cause it ?
When cold it starts no problem. When hot i have to use a little throttle to get it running.

The spacer is an insultor so the IM can't be used as an earth as it will not conduct to the head.

I have the same spacer and i'm planning to use some other points for earth as per S2_Bo's thread.

Just run a decent sized earth wire from the IM to the existing point on the cam cover.

Well the question is what has Eriksson got earthed on the IM as the 034 / Wagner IM has no earth points on it!

          IM bolts conduct the electricity.

            Guys...

Sounds like you have a 'hot' start problem...likey culprit is the thermal sensor at the back of the head.

Get the codes pulled first, as a starting point.

Unless you drill and tap it as per OEM

Wouldn't the bolts holding the IM onto the head provide the earthing? Is the normal standard IM gasket made of non conductive material or is it metal?

Indeed they should provide a pretty good earth but I suppose if you're worried then a separate wire is about 5 mins work and provides peace of mind

Change the sensor at the back of the head. I had the same problem and the temperature sensor change fixed the problem.

There are resistance graphs somewhere for the temperature sensors, SJM Auto or something like that?

I have now replaced the engine temp sensor on the back of the head.
                              Same starting problems.
When hot i have to give a bit of throttle, otherwise i can crank for 10/15 seconds
                              before it starts.

i have new remap, 89mm MAF 550cc injektors.

Can it be someting with the injektors ?

                              Best regards Pelle
