    Running problems

Just rebuilt an RR engine for a UR and it starts and idles fine but will not rev. As soon as the idle switch opens the engine coughs and dies unless the MAF is disconnected. I have changes the MAF, Throttle pot, and ISV with no change to the symptoms. Checked for boost leaks and the system holds 1.5bar.

ECU is holding no fault codes

    Any ideas?

Had similar problem with mine and it was the MAF. Have you checked all the wiring to/from the MAF. If it idles fine but then cuts out on opening throttle, it indicates the injectors and ignition are working fine. As soon as the throttle comes off the switch it starts looking at the MAF and all other sensors for its fuelling /timing. Is Lambda working OK?
Strange no fault codes are coming up. Are you reading them whilst the engine is running?

Changed the MAF and got the same problem. Have checked the MAF wiring as per the motronics manual and all seems fine.

Not checked the lambda will change that today.

I have a similar problem with a mate's modded S3. Runs ok but misses a bit without the MAF connected, but with the MAF connected it doesn't want to run at all and spits fuel out the back.

Got to the bottom of this issue and it turned out that the MAP sensor was defective.
