    Sump gaskets

Am I right in thinking there are two identical sump gaskets, one between the block and the baffle, and one between the baffle and the sump?

Can anyone tell me if there is an RTV sealant or anything esle specified in refitting the sump?

Have you got a CQ 7A?

I don't think the 7A has a baffle and only uses one gasket

        yeah, 7A - thanks guys.....

Weird, I was looking on VAGcat which seemed to suggest there was a baffle
But i remembered receently someone mentioned the 7As don't have one.

7A has a small square baffle in the middle of the sump, the turbo motors have a full size baffle and require two gaskets. I think 10v motors had a different baffle again.

            .

Fitting the metal baffle and 2 gaskets is a worthwhile mod...my oil consumption went down when i did it.
