On Friday night, Pregga from Frieling Racing in SA come thru to tune my car with my new setup fitted. Tuning went fine - real fine with what I reckon to be approx 270kW at the wheels. Thing is though, I'm boosting 1.8bar with the tuyrbo holding 1.6 at 7200rpm - I expected more, but believed the turbo to be the culprit. AFR running 12 under boost and 13 of boost things were nice. Then Saturday morning the car felt "slow" on my way to a Audi Club SA dyno day. I thought it was my "butt dyno" acting up. BUT even though bosst came up to bout 1.8 still (at times had 1.9 friday) the power wasn't there. I don't get it....boost but no power...?! 200kW ATW!!!?? I checked fault codes and now I have a lamda sensor code. I thought lamda only influences part throttle or does it influence WOT. I also saw that the barometric pressure was 1047mbar and should be 880mbar. I replaced the sensor so now giving 880mbar but still no power. Can it be the lamda or something else?
I checked for boost leaks with pressure test kit but something puzzles me. I put pressure into the boost pipe after the turbo and could not get pressure build up until I blocked off the tapet cover breather????? Does this mean that pressure is escaping through the sump/breather system?? I also noticed a LOT of oil all the way to the MAF on the inlet - so I took the breather to a separate bottle but I see no oil on the bottle, so it might be the new turbo chucking oil, but there's no play on the shaft??
I logged some readings on VAGCOM, but can't seem to see whether the ECU goes to WOT. How do I check?
