Bet you have a tywrap then that is stopping it moving.

Or is the lever clip fouling on the metal bracket which surrounds the ECU ?

The other end of the wiring connector is effectively hooked in, so you need to have it at almost a right angle to detach it. Be careful!

when u pull the lever hook up is that detaching the electrical connector? When the lever hook side is disconnected u can see the brown connector still connected and the wires going into the back of it!

The metal lever prises the connector up but it does not release it completely as the other end is hooked in. You need to push the connector to a more vertical position. If you can't see I'll try and get some pics up to assist!
Oh and put the screws back in! They secure the two parts of the connector!

You did watch the video didn't you ?
With the lever released, the connector pivots away from the side where the cables enter. Can't explain it any easier than the vid shows

Paul when you pull the lever down is the connector underneath come out on that side? Because when i pull my lever down the connector is still 100% stuck in! On the side of the brown connector its looks like some old glue or something, has the black casing detached from the connector underneath?

First the corresponding slots in the ecu.
Second shows the prong on the connector.
Third the position when the clip is pulled back.
Fourth the angle needed to seperate connector from ecu.

I think judging by your pics the connector has come unstuck from the bit with the metal clip on.thats why i can unclip it
