hesitating on gear change

from 1st to 2nd at launch the car hesitates at high rpm for a second it weired it doesnt pick up straight away soz its hard to descibe any help out there chaps

Is the throttle cable sticking?

its not cable, its a rod under the car.....
it may be som bad second syncring or pals inside the tranny

you may have the tranny out of the car, and have it rebuildt...second syncring are gone( cracked i think)
when using the stick, its no cable (wire) under the car; its a rod, conected to the tranny( gearlinkage)

I don't think this could be more ambiguos, I took it to mean that the engine was playing up thus making the syncro do more work. I'm fully aware of how the 'box works after spending a lot of time with it last year.

If you mean that the gear lever is slow then I have the same problem, you just have to give it some time to catch up or hope for the best if you rush it and make sure you're accurate, thankfully 1-2 is not required on track and sprints are rare.

In first and second the selector lever on the box is very close to the casing, any wear on the joints will mean that you could be hitting the box slightly. I had issues getting the linkage adjusted propery and it took a few goes, it's still close too.

When my 2nd gear synchro was knackered i got a nasty metal-on-metal scraping sound when changing from 1st to 2nd at high revs.

no nasty noises just what i described she has done 185k so got to expect some wear a tear
