I think i will go standard without machining, i already have the steel gasket so i will be winning slightly with that, these should be ample for all the power i plan to run.
I also run skimmed standard pistons, mine were skimmed to the bottom of the squish area theoretically making them flat top with the exception of the valve cut outs.
My compression ratio is now 8.5:1
I personally don't like the two head gasket approach but each to their own.
I`m also running 500+hp with standard pistons and scat rods.
The approach i took was to keep the standard squish area in front of the inlet valves but make the eccentric dish wider and deeper. This made the crown 0.5mm thinner and gave me a CR of 8.46 with the standard head gasget.
man you do a fair bit of calculating! iv read a few threads now and going by others experience i am definately going with the oe pistons, i am no millionaire well not till later! so standard for now.
