which way does the coolent go?

this is on my v8 by the way

does the water come from the thermostat housing, pumped through the bottom hose, out through the top of the radiator into the engine??? or is it the other way round???

dont want to have my electric water pump having a big fight with my normal water pump

You're right enough, I just checked the workshop manual.

bottom of the rad goes to the block and from the head back into top of the rad

Water flows from the stat to the top of the rad.

It's quite a handy way around too. It means you can 'back flush' the rad with it still in the car when doing a coolant change.
