Operating oil pressure and water temp on AAN

mates, I have some doubts with my AAN.... with 34°C of outside temperature my operatin temperature is too high... on my cluster says 105°C and on my VEMS gauge was 99°, the FAN on and hood closed, I don't know if i's the radiator position fault,. I tried to isolate the engine heat putting a plate where the engine is, but temperature still going up. I have 100% H2O on the water circuit... no coolant liquid. I have cleaned up all the water form the inside of the engine but not changed the thermostat, at least, not yet.

Then, the oil... GreenStar semisynth 10W-40... at 950rpm the pressure is at just a millimeter before the 2bar line... I'd say it's at 1.8 or 1.9bar. Oil temperature was at 80°C. Oil and filter are completely new. Engine has 99K miles and was at least 5 years in the junkyard.

Please I need some opinions, or commets, or whatever... but I don't know what to do or what to think.

    Thanks in advance,

    Fabio.

only on the garage... no traffic yet... maybe one turn around the block...but only one...the rest with the car stopped. I'm testing it before going to the streets

Coolant WILL help it to cool! get some in! Try a new thermostat too, cheapest thing to replace, see if it helps..... Oil pressure seems ok for only 950rpm.... 2bar at nearly idle and should raise when revved.....

Thing is you dont really know the history of the engine before you got it......

Get the coolant in, its antifreeze for in the winter and coolant for the summer, use the proper stuff tho. There have been people before with rads mounted like yours so i'd look at something else. As beetie say try the thermostat.

oil pressure seems ok to me, want it at 2bar at idle once at normal operting temps....coolant mixed with the water will make a difference to the water temperature for sure

Ok, I'll get the coolant and thermostat on monday... we'll see what happens... Oil pressure raises to 3 bar sin the engine arrive to 1300-1400rpm!
And yes, I don't know the exact history, I only know the engine was using the Castrol TXT in the last oil change, and the coil4 was overheating or misfiring, the rest was clearly clean and in very good shape.

                Thank you all again!!!

Oil pressure on start-up should be close to 5 Bar. Once warmed, to 89 C coolant temp, you should see about 2 Bar oil pressure on idle.

With regard to the AAN thermostat, this will help you:

This link compares the 3B MFTS and the AAN G62 coolant temp senders:

True but he said that it was overheating so therefore i guessed it was up to temperature by then!

Did you notice that I was subtly trying to suggest that his overheating might be his thermostat when I posted the link to the thermostat replacement PNs and procedure?

The temp and pressure data was for *normal* operation, not during overheating.

Well on a cold start the oil press goes even a little more than 5bar hehe When oil passes the 75°C on the gauge, at idle (~900-950rpm) goes down to about 1.8bar... it doesn't reaches less than 1.8bar and not more than 2, the first alarm of oil pressure turns on in the cluster but I now know that the signal is activated from the ECU cuz is not reading any rpm, am I right???

Talking about the thermostats from the link... does the V6 TS has a low opening temperature than the AAN's one???

well are pretty nice! But I have now the doubt about the opening temperature of the V6 thermostat!

You need coolant in the water that's for sure this would be my 1st port of call
