    ABY upgrade question

    Hi guys,

Tell me please, is there any good in fitting an RS2 turbo on the stock ABY engine, or do I need to fit an intercooler too? I am in the process of buying a remapped ECU so I suppose remapping for the RS should be necessary. What would be sensible, please tell me. No w there is a goodlooking RS2 turbo on the Forum for sale section, but there are the manifolds aswell. Are they also necessary? I desperatly want to execute myself financially.......

its worth fitting the turbo, but if you want to increase the power more you need the EM too because the exhaust valves in 1 &5 get too hot otherwise. But with that on its own you wont get a huge increase, you will also need new injectors and a bigger intercooler is sure to help.

Does it mean that the bigger turbo and EM by itself is not worth? I wouldn't feel the difference?

no thats definetly worth it with a proper remap you should be able to get about 315-330hp with the rest staying stock, but if you want to go beyond that you need to do a few other bits and pieces.

          Here's the scoop -

ABY with RS2 turbo fitted to ABY manifold can be chipped to ~330bhp / 450Nm. A relatively cheap way to get 100bhp with a simple turbo swap and ECU upgrade.

ABY with RS2 turbo, RS2 manifold, RS2/7A exhaust cam and RS2 injectors can be chipped to ~370bhp / 480Nm. This obviously costs much more, and the ECU requires further work.

Needs to be a leak-free ABY engine with a good fuel system running 98RON for those figures. Generic ECU upgrades for either configuration are available from Mihnea or me !

          Cheers,
