Dangit - what is wrong with my head - I was sure the ATP thing pointed me at the KW engine... Maybe I got excited with the reference to 'AQS' which covers the S1 and the ordinary UR... My bad - sorry... It is of course the RR engine I should have referred to.
How many engine codes were there for the inline 5 audi engines, and what are the pro's and con's of each? Mine is a late AAN. Does it mean i have some good bits when it comes to tuning later?
Hi Pug and welcome to the Forum, you've not really posted this request for info in the correct section but that's understandable if your still finding your way around the site.
What info are your after in-particular? Some more details regarding your car would also be useful, ie is it stock and what sort of mileage has it covered?
They're not especially difficult to do a head gasket on though it is a time consuming job and not one I'd entrust to a random garage, if you're doing the work yourself so much the better.
I have the factory manual that covers the 7A engine which is the non turbo variant of ABY/AAN/ADU and 3B/RR engine's which will give you the head bolt torques and tightening sequence as they're the same but it doesn't cover any of the turbo stuff.
I'm sure there must be a guide on here regarding changing the head gasket, I'll have a poke around later and see if I can find anything for you.
