Clutch will be the push rod, the rubber linkage wears over time and then it begins to buckly when you press the pedal and can stick in the bent position. Either engineer a solution or buy a new one for £120, either way it's the best part of hours labour to change it when I did the job 4 years ago. Good luck

best to buy as new or is a 2nd that has been working well a worthy purchase ? its a buck thing at the mo but then it may be worth the wait?
mine snapped on me after it started buckling 10 miles from home
Yup, mine snapped in France on hols a few years ago. I knew it was on the way out so was only using the clutch for 1st gear - all other changes (up and down) were done sans clutch but the rod still snapped before I could get home the Blighty
The saving grace was that the cheif mechanic new what an S2 was but I had to stay an extra 3 days in France whilst he fixed it, so the hotel took pity on us and only charged us for 1 extra night....result
That aside, the moral of the story is --> sticky clutch - changy push rod quicky smart
