Yeah a dump valve is going to reduce your lag and gain you 50 bhp :mischeif:

Aftermarktets are rebuildable that is their main advantage, the other is they wont melt when passing hot gasses.

Not worth paying out for one new IMO, get a good 2nd hand one or just by the S3 OEM valve.

Why do people mess about with the spring in the Std Bosch Valve?

you cannotn mess with the original spring on the bosch valve, cause to do so you have to cut it,and thus destroy it.You can fiddle with the aftermarket Diverter valves, but then again for a wide range of boost(up until 2,0 bar) you rarely need any adjustment of a spring supplied.

I have the forge 006 mainly for reasons of not leaking after a few months of use, which sometimes the plastic bosch ones, tend to...especially if you are running high boost levels.(although my old bosch one did sound nice!!)

The standard bosch is not spring based it's a diaphragm which is none adjustable

****** students - do your homework - LOL - I reckon 100bhp improvement with a shiny dump valve... The shinier the better

Jamo & Vasilis have said it all really, but I will endeavour to explain all this fundamental stuff much better on the upcoming site updates at s2central.net - it doesn't cover this topic at all and some of my engine info is rather old in the tooth now.
