Dodgy idle when warm after fitting different MAF???

As it says in the title, have been running a "different" MAF on my s2 avant for a couple of weeks after sillybollo* here put my finger through the hot wire on the origional one...

Got hold of a second hand on off a nice fella off here, fitted it last night, all appeared to be fine untill sat in traffic this morning and the idle was all over the place, a few times almost stalling.. cars not happy.....

never had any issues with this before

    any suggestions??

To me if the only part that has changed is the maf then it points to your new maf being faulty.

        Can you try another maf?

There was a thread here just the other day about MAF problems related to the six pin connector and making sure that all the pins were clean and the male and female pins were, well, you know, er, "mated" together.

I added that info to a MAF related post:

471K MAF is common to RR, 3B, AAN and ABY. ADU is "different" (471N).

Right, got the car plugged into the computer yesterday, infact 2 different computers, VAGCOM and the Snap-on Scanner which can measure live data etc, and the MAF is ******ed - Fault code 2324

plugged one in from my mates S4 (origional one with same motor) and it ran perfectly..

                        8(

It means the simpliest explanation for a problem is normally the correct one, in this case new maf, crap running, new maf must be faulty!
