    Superchipped RS2?

The RS2 I have purchased has been Superchipped or so Ive been told.

Also it has a different screw in the Wastegate:

    And this plug is unplugged?

The plug is down beside the airbox and in front of the Wastegate.
The car seems to idle fine. Shall I plug it back in?
What is the plug meant to do?

Also I hear that Superchips isnt the best of S2/RS2's, why is this?

Looks very much like the WGFV plug, which means your car has no ECU boost control and I bet a big-ar$ed spring added to the WG which is then wound right in

Paul will be along in a minute to fix it for you or take it to MRC and get it sorted properly

    Cheers n

P.S. Did the person that did this read a certain US bike forum?

ETA: Great minds and all that...

Looks like the WGFV has been bypassed and the boost wound up by turning the screw on the wastegate.

Generally this is not considered good tuning practice on these cars.

I am sure others will concur.

      Cheers,

      Steve.

Id rather have the engine back to standard.
I have heard very positive things about MRC. Being down here in little old New Zealand I dont think they will be on much help.
For the moment am I best to leave the plug unplugged if the spring has been played with?

          Thank you for your help.

Yes they can, buy the high boost MRC generic chip and have it installed locally.

Replace wastegate screw with standard one and reconnect the WGFV, your car will fly!

Ah, didn't spot your location...OK, so the MRC thang might be out then

First I would suggest that you find out if the ECU has been played with. Did the original owner give you the receipt for the work or can you contact him.

If this is just a nasty mechanical mod, then I would sort out the WG (Paul et al will guide you but I suspect you need to wind the nut out and check which spring is in there at the very least) and plug the WGFV quick smart.

              Hope you get it sorted

              Cheers n

              Si

P.S. Once back to stock, get a homefries and it will absolutely fly and still have full ECU control

I was right then 'bout the dreaded superchip nonsense... Mmmm a so called chip tuning company that prevents the ECU from any form of electronic boost control. Go figure !

Onset of boost would be pretty savage but that's about it really... Much safer to have it all put back to standard.

If I had a replacement turbo then a bleed valve might be worth the craic!

                          This is typical Superchips.

Is there a chip/remap in it at all then?

you'd hope the ecu would have been changed otherwise it'd be running a bit off fueling wise and the ecu would throw a code about the WGFV.
