i am just thinking about, i never tryed anything else spark plug for audi s2 street car, only f5dpor.
anybody has any good experience, with other spark plugs?
is there any better?
I think they are a good safe bet... There was some contraversial posts way back about using alternative copper cored plugs, but myself and others weren't entirely convinced of the merits versus the risk of taking on a relatively unknown part on critical missions. Can't remember if funky fuel was also involved - that might have confused things further.
I experimented with copper core plugs and the results are in the Forum archive. Forget it. They lasted for about 300 miles before the motor went off song. Direct replacement with (used) F5DPORs returned the car to its usual self. No dodgy fuel used....
I use Bosch F3CS plugs instead of F5DPOR. Reason is that E85 has a lower MON rating than race fuel (although its effective RON is higher), so when setting up the engine like one would on race fuel, like upping the boost to 2bar+, the colder plugs will be a good idea, as colder plugs will lower the risk of pre-ignition. Such cold plugs can easily foul when using petrol, but ethanol burns so clean that there are no deposits whatsoever.

Interesting - I thought F4CS would have been worth a rattle on higher boost applications than factory... but I see your logic for going even colder with E85.
Yup, the MON rating of E85 is still well above 98 octane petrol, but it is easy to go nuts with boost/timing when the stuff just does not want to detonate Easy to forget that pre-ignition still can happen.
