Any quick guick guide for top cyl head gasket replacement?

I havent ever tried to do anything to the car which i havent seen done or explained at,out of fear of doing something wrong obviously.
I just ordered the top cyl.head gasket set (rubber) and i would like to try and replace them myself.
    Any info on that?
After removal of top cover with coils obviously, and unbolting the top cover,is there anything else that needs to be looked at?or disconnecting? etc.I dont want to mess with hall senders or anything there.

I want to replace that cause after the PVC was blocked earlier this year, the rubber gasket has been moist with oil and as soon as that happens,it needs to be replaced.

    Thanks

from memory, its a pretty easy job, you don't have to touch the hall sender or cam gear.
2 hours should see the job done - just make sure you get those 2 half moon rubber bits sitting correctly at the back - easy to dislodge them as you fit the housing

I just set about doing this today, with my donor engine...

There are 6 bolts that you need to undo with an allen key. If you remove the coil pack cover, there are 2 bolts to be undone with a 10mm socket. To get all this off I had to remove the throttle body from the IM - access to the back, right bolt is difficult!

Once you pull the rubber gasket out, make sure to clean all the edges with a clean cloth so there's no grit that could damage the gasket.

It took me about half an hour to get the cam cover off, but that was with the engine out

      Cheers
