as doug said, i presumed all my clips had sealed, till i pressure tested the system just about every clip was leaking, i couldnt understand it, then john greased them and worked a treat.
im gonna be changing every pipe on my intake system apart from the inlet pipe-throttle body one, have to think of a solution for that, dont want to keep the original.

Thanks for the advice guys. There's lots of steel pipe inside that rubber hose reinforcing all that stuff you can see, and I'm gonna double up on the clips, but I've made sure some movement is available along the length of that pipe.

Ideally, I want a steel pipe in there with decent hose on either end, double clipped, cause this boost leak thing is doing ma head in :S

I had probs like this on my golf at 2 bar boost even with fancy clips like the ones in the picture. I found that silicon hoses grip better than rubber. But the best thing i found to do was to run a bead of weld round the steel pipes about 10mm from their end to give a rib for the clips to grip on. No problems since...

Arggh - further to my team bodge style fix, the wife commented on the car as it stands right now... "How is it you've spent thousands of pounds and the car is slower?"

Yup - ANOTHER split pipe. Sheesh. Time to strip the ol red shed down again...

Paul N - if you read this I've PM'd you a couple of days ago about possibility of posting pipes to me or Leigh. Any chance on that? I'll try the samcos and see how long they last before doing the metal pipe thing. Gonna buy a 16 ton hydraulic press pipe bender and make my own, if need be... unless someone has one just 'lying around' or something...

Now, where's that wall to smack my head ag... ahhh, there it is

Paul, i know how your feeling. Cure one leak and it springs another, tell the wife to **** off!! She wouldnt understand. LOL. I have got a small leak somewhere, but dont know where, i have to make a pressure tester this week and find it. But its not causing major running probs luckily.
